SeaPro powering the clean-up of Northland
All garbage as you might think at first sight… No! The boat on the picture is not part of the garbage. The yacht is a new acquisition from the Sea Cleaners team in New Zealand – Northland. They remove rubbish from the Sea, Harbours and Oceans. Above all the Sea Cleaners team are delighted their newest boat is powered by a super-durable 90hp Mercury SeaPro.
Workhorses of the Sea
Mercury SeaPro engines have been designed to provide optimal sustainability and longer engine life in commercial applications, without compromising power. Along with Mercury’s exclusive multi step paint process, SeaPro FourStroke engines come standard with an anodized driveshaft housing, further decreasing the opportunity for corrosion and improving performance and life in harsh saltwater environments.
Since 2002, Sea Cleaners has removed an estimated 4.3 million litres of garbage from the seas, oceans and harbours around New Zealand. Sea Cleaners latest vessel, a five metre Blackdog Cat centre console catamaran, has just hit the water and will spend its life working along the hundreds of kilometres of coastline. With this New boat they expect to collect about 30,000 litres of rubbish every month.
