Mercury Marine 75th Anniversary

Mercury Marine 75th Anniversary

Mercury Marine celebrates its 75 years of existence. Although, “existence” is not the best choice of words, because Mercury Marine became world’s leading developer and manufacturer of commercial and recreational marine propulsion systems.

Driven by heritage - Fueled by passion
Boating has evolved dramatically and continually over the years, Mercury Marine is proud to be a part of it. During its 75 years of history, Mercury manufactured more than 11 million boat engines. The Mercury Marine company was founded in 1939 by engineer Carl Kiekhaefer. At that time Carl bought a bankrupt company who was the manufacturer of “Thor” outboard engines. Today Mercury is the largest division of Brunswick Corporation.
